Attacks on Christians in southern Ethiopia have been instigated by the Meles regime at the highest level. In Aug and Sep 2005, Meles sent Minister of Capacity Building, and former Defense Minister Tefera Walewa, and Information Minister Bereket Simon to Awassa and other towns in southern Ethiopia to incite Muslims against Orthodox Christians.
