Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — Swarms of locusts confirmed in some areas of the nation are under control, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD) said on Wednesday.

In a statement sent to ENA, the ministry said the swarms had so far caused no significant damages in the areas.

The government is undertaking integrated efforts to immediately control the infestation, the statement said.

The statement said the infested areas have been sprayed with chemicals by air and ground operations.

Agriculture experts, officials and farmers in the areas have been widely involved in the operations.
