Kampala — Infocom and Data Networks (KDN) have announced the launch of a 1500 kilometer fibre-optic cable linking Kampala to Nairobi and Mombasa.

The two companies this week launched the US$750 000 cable with a capacity of 10,000 MGPS.

KDN chief executive officer, Kai Wulff said the project includes connecting Kigali within a month.

“The price for the service will be the same wherever you are in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda or Burundi but what is very important is that people must be creative in order to benefit from the project,” he told media.
