Michael Jackson’s dermatologist speaks out
Los Angeles — MICHAEL Jackson’s personal doctor, Arnold Klein, rumored to be the biological dad of the late singer’s children has finally spoken about their paternity.
In an interview on CNN’s Larry King Live programme, the doctor admitted to donating sperm once, but denied being the father of the children.
Klein, who was Jackson’s dermatologist for 20 years, however, said he did not know whether he was the father of son Prince Michael, 12, and 11-year-old daughter, Paris.
The children’s surrogate mother, Debbie Rowe was Klein’s nurse and she met Jackson at Klein’s surgery. Rowe, Klein and Jackson were close friends.
Later, Rowe and Jackson married in 1996 before divorcing in 1999. Klein and Rowe are still friends and have talked on several occasions since Jackson’s death. The third child, Blanket, was conceived with a surrogate mother, whose name is yet to be released.
Klein said Rowe was the best person to look after the children because Katherine Jackson is too old and Joe Jackson is not capable.
During the interview, Klein said: “I once donated sperm to a sperm bank. To the best of my knowledge I am not the father. If they want a DNA test they can have my DNA.”
Klein denied that the entertainer was undergoing skin lightening out of a desire to deny his black heritage. “I think his black heritage is something he lived with… He was very close to everyone who was black in entertainment. I don’t think he didn’t want to be black.”
Klein also said the singer did not appear ill when he saw him recently. “He danced in my office and for my patients,” he said.
Meanwhile, Michael will not be buried until doctors finish testing his brain for drugs to determine the cause of his death.
Reports say the family will not lay him to rest until the brain is given back. Jackson’s dad Joe said the star would not be buried until his family found out the cause of death.
