Addis Ababa – The Gambella Woreda administration said it has issued licenses to 73 investors with over 297 million birr aggregate capital during the concluded Ethiopian budget year.

In a report presented to 3rd regular meeting of the woreda council, Woreda Chief Ukedi Ubuya said the investors obtained the licenses to engage in oilseed, maize, rice and sorghum development on over 28,000 hectares of land.

He said 38 of the total investors have launched implementation of the project.

When all projects go operational, they will create jobs to nearly 15,000 citizens.

Existing favorable investment opportunities and ongoing promotional activities contributed a lot to increase investment flow, he said.

The chief said encouraging activities have also been registered in agriculture, education, and health sectors, among others.
