According to Prof. Drakes' formula there is about 100 million planets capable of forming life on them as we know it. So it seems that the universe is too big for them to explore or there are more technicalogical problems that they haven't solved yet. there are also many problems we have to solve before we really go "exploring" the universe. Something to think about?

As I understand evolution, it has been 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 billion years ago since any new life has been formed on earth. That would seem to make the odds of life forming even here very remote. So, what are the odds for life forming any where else anything but very very remote to the nth degree ? Here we know there is an environment that is friendly to so many forms of life, but still it has not happened for so many millions of years.
