Police arrest naked man accused of stealing liquor from yacht
A naked man was arrested and charged with burglary and theft after he was suspected of breaking into a yacht early Friday and stealing alcohol, Annapolis police said.
Employees on a boat docked at the Annapolis Yacht Basin in the first block of Compromise St. were awakened about 2 a.m. by sounds of an intruder, police said. The boat's engineer awoke to see a man, clothed in a black V-neck T-shirt and dark jeans, in his bedroom and chased him off the yacht. Found on the dock nearby were the only items that seemed to be missing from the boat: a six-pack of Rolling Rock beer and a bottle of Ketel One vodka, police said.
An officer summoned by boat employees heard rustling in nearby bushes, and called for whoever was there to come out. A naked man emerged, police said. Also found were soaked garments that matched the description of the clothes given by the boat's engineer, police said.
A wallet inside one of the shoes identified the suspect as Daniel A. Rose, 23, of Eldersburg. He faces three counts of burglary and one of misdemeanor theft.
