Bainbridge Island Pottery Kiln Catches Fire
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND — Bainbridge Island Fire Department crews responded to a fire at a pottery shed at Eagledale Park on Thursday afternoon.
A fire official said a kiln inside a 10-foot by 15-foot outdoor lean-to had a load of pottery in it. Around 3:50 p.m. witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the roof of the building, owned by the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District. The roof soon caught fire.
The official said it took less than 10 minutes to extinguish the fire once emergency crews arrived. No one was injured.
