Woman sues Bon-Ton Salon, claiming she lost her hair after dye job
A Palmer Township woman says the dye job she got at a hair salon was so bad that she is suing for more than $100,000 and demanding a jury trial in Northampton County Court.
Rhondasue Myers said two days after she had her hair dyed at a salon in The Bon-Ton at Palmer Park Mall, her more-than-shoulder-length locks began breaking and falling out.
”We’re not just talking about a bad dye job here,” said her Easton attorney, Kristin Harvey. ”All of her hair broke off, and I mean all of it. It’s been almost two years since the incident and she’s only now been able to grow her hair back.”
A manager at Bon-Ton Salon declined to comment on the suit late Thursday.
According to her lawsuit filed Thursday in Northampton County Court, Myers went to a salon, operated at the department store by Hairstylists Management Systems of Plymouth, Minn., and within two days her hair began falling out and breaking off. The damage was so bad it caused her to miss work, rack up medical testing bills and take medication and treatment to repair her severely damaged hair, Harvey said.
As a result, Myers is suing for an amount in excess of $50,000. And because the incident has caused her husband, Todd Myers, to be ”deprived of comfort, assistance and consortium” from his wife, he is a party in the suit for an additional amount in excess of $50,000.
”What is it worth for a female to have to spend two years going through this?” Harvey said. ”We trust that a jury will award an appropriate amount.”
