Amhara State, (Bahir Dar) -Bahir Dar University in Amhara State said preparations are nearing completion to increase enrollment capacity for post graduate program by more than double
The university said it would enroll 1,000 trainees for the program in the coming academic year.
Post graduate Program Dean with the university, Dr. Bayle Damte told ENA that the university would increase enrollment capacity by launching 20 new post graduate programs in 2002 E.C.
Some of the new fields include electrical, chemical, textile and water resource engineering, education, gender, natural resource conservation, business and economics, among others.
PhD level training would also be launched in fish resource development, fodder research mathematics and psychology, among others, next year.
The new education fields would increase post graduate programs of the university to 41.
Expansion of the post graduate programs enables to increase enrollment capacity to 1,000 from the previous 450.
The university has been training 744 students in post graduate program.
