Vancouver is ‘the most depressing place in the world’
“The most depressing place in the world today is Vancouver, British Columbia.”
Sounds about right, coming from a blogger in sunny, warm southern California.
But San Diego blogger Arthur Saim uses Vancouver as a place that sinks him into depression — when he compares his own fair city with ours.
The columnist for the San Diego News Network uses Vancouver as a benchmark of urban efficiency and beauty in an Aug. 3 posting.
He describes Vancouver as “spectacularly beautiful,” and praises its waterfronts, parks, transit system, urban planning, ethnic diversity, and, yes, its “young, progressive, can-do mayor Gregor Robertson.”
