Addis Ababa, (ENA) – Social Affairs Standing Committee of the House of Peoples’ Representatives said Drug Administration and Control Authority (DACA) has carried out encouraging activities in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality as well as the proper use of the drugs that are made available in the country.

The Committee made the statement while hearing DACA’s nine-month performance report here on Wednesday.

DACA director-general, Yehulu Denekew Alemneh said on the occasion that the authority has carried out successful activities to control the safety, efficacy, and quality of drugs during the reported period.

He said the authority has put in place directives enabling to remove expired drugs in scientific manner. DACA has also been working to prepare international standard master plan to prevent drug trafficking.

The standing committee said the authority has carried out encouraging activities to ensure safety, efficacy, and quality of drugs.

The committee urged the authority to execute its plan including the national drug policy reform during the budget year.
