BlizzCon 09: Tricia Helfer To Play Kerrigan In StarCraft II
This news comes straight out of Blizzard’s voice actors panel at BlizzCon. Blizzard has revealed that Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer will be playing Sarah Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades, in StarCraft II. Along with that, several returning actors will be lending their vocal talents in the game, including Robert Clotworthy and James Harper, reprising their roles as Jim Raynor and Arcturus Mengsk.
“It’s certainly fun to try and find the small differences — how do you bring Sarah Kerrigan into the Queen of Blades, without completely changing it?” said Helfer at the outset of her introduction to the crowd at BlizzCon. “Sarah is more innocent, and the Queen of Blades is just fun.”
“It’s intimidating to come into a game and do a job that you don’t really know the history of it, I’m kind of a video game virgin in terms of playing. Personally I’m not technologically savvy,” Helfer continued. “At the time, I didn’t know what Zerg and all these things were. It was fun to find out all these little differences.”

It is funny the actors and actresses we like are the ones who are normally the ones who have no idea what they are doing? Who does not want Tricia Helfer in a roll? She was great in BSG and Command and Conquer 3. However, sometimes I wonder if we can believe their acting when they do not know what they are talking about? However, one of the reasons we like an actress like Tricia Helfer (besides her looks) is… she is a good actress and she acts well – even if she does not know exactly what she means in her lines. I betcha, she would not know why a number of zerglings are powerful against a single Terran Marine but powerless against a single Terran Battleship (in a 1vs1 fight). Never-the-less, if and when SC2 comes out… I want to see it. Of course, I suspect command and conquer 4 will be out or comming out soon afterwards. So it might be a great and bad year for the RTS games. Great for all the new stuff. Bad, because we will be forced to play one or the other…
