Art museum not so keen on real-life nude art

There’s lots of nudes in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art – but it seems they draw the line at real-life nude people.

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman on Wednesday for posing naked for a photographer, and in full view of visitors, in the museum’s ‘arms and armor’ department.

The model, Kathleen “K.C.” Neill, now faces a charge of public lewdness.

Her attorney, Donald Schechter, pointed out that the museum is full of nude art, and to call what the model and her photographer were doing obscenity ‘is ridiculous.’

Photographer Zach Hyman, who directed the shoot, has been getting a fair amount attention around New York recently for his habit of photographing nude models on subway.

Hyman insists that he’s inspired by nude paintings at the Met, and that his photos are not pornographic.
