AU Commission chairman to visit China
BEIJING — African Union (AU) Commission Chairman Jean Ping is to visit China from Sept. 7 to 11, as guest of the Chinese government, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yuhere on Friday.
During Ping’s visit, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and State Councilor Dai Bingguo will respectively meet with him. And he will co-chair the second round of the China-AU strategic dialogue with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
The two sides will exchange views on the China-AU relations, as well as international and regional issues of common concerns, Jiang said.
The first round of the dialogue was held last year in Addis Abeba, capital of Ethiopia, where the AU headquarters is located.
