2010 Chicago Jazz Festival features Ethiopia's Teshome Mitiku

The 2010 Chicago Jazz Festival features Ethiopian artists Getachew Mekurya, Teshome Mitiku, and Mahmoud Ahmed.

The Festival is spread out for a few days in different venues and then comes together September 4th and 5th in Grant Park.

The evening performances at the Petrillo Music Shell will introduce audiences to the Cambridge-based ensemble The Either/Orchestra in collaboration with Ethiopian artists Mahmoud Ahmed and, celebrate the vocal artistry of René Marie and pay tribute to trumpeter Lee Morgan.

Pianist Brad Mehldau makes his first Chicago Jazz Festival appearance and Henry Threadgill returns home with his Zooid band and the festival will close with Grammy winner Chicago vocalist Kurt Elling.
