Ethiopia: ECAA says implementing aviation agreements signed with five countries

Addis Ababa, (ENA) – Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) has announced bilateral agreements with five countries in the areas of aviation services and investment.

Over the past nine months, the authority said, it has obtained 38,239,000 Birr in revenues.

ECAA promotion and public relations acting manager Ahmed Hassan told ENA on Tuesday that the cooperation agreements were signed with France, Switzerland, Bahrain, Siera Leone and Nigeria.

In addition, he said, flight programs of 14 foreign airlines were approved.

Over the reported period, works related to ensuring quality operational procedures at airports have been carried out so as to see to it that passengers feel ever safer and secured.

Competence and skills of aviation workers was proved to be up to expectations, he asserted. The authority has been carrying out a range of activities aimed at making services more efficient, he indicated.

Four investors have also been licensed to engage in the air transport sector with their respective projects that inject more than 80 million birr in working capitals.
