Adama – Members of coalition of anti-HIV/AIDS associations in Adama town said they are engaged in various development works along with the HIV/AIDS prevention activities so as to ensure the sustainability of the ongoing economic growth of the country

Speaking at a half day consultative forum organized in Adama town yesterday, members of the coalition said that they are actively engaged in the development endeavors so as to improve their livelihood and expedite the economic growth of the country.

Members of the coalition also said that they are undertaking exemplary activities since last fiscal year by engaging in credit and savings, small-scale business, animal fattening, among others.

The members also urged pertinent bodies to take the necessary measures over some non-governmental organizations (NGOs), which they said are prioritizing their own benefits at the expense of the needy.

Mayor of Adama town, Sisay Negash on the occasion said that the all-rounded efforts members of the coalition are exerting to extricate themselves from dependency are exemplary for other associations.

Accordingly, the town’s administration would provide the necessary support for the coalition besides offering business sites, offices and facilitating loan services, he said.

The coalition embraces more than 800 members, it was noted.
