Ethiopia: Construction of over 2.6 million birr worth blood bank well in progress: ERCS

W.Hararge, (Chiro) — West Hararge Zone Branch office of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) said construction of blood bank launched at a cost of over 2.6 million birr is well in progress.

Office head, Wegi Degefa said over 85 per cent of construction of the blood bank is completed.

The head was speaking at a public gathering organized in Chiro Town of the zone in connection with World Red Cross Red Crescent Day.

He said construction of the bank will be finalized in the near future.

Wegi said during the past nine months more than 21,000 residents have become beneficiaries of a pharmacy and clinic constructed in the town by ERCS.

Zonal Chief. Aley Kalifa on the occasion said the necessary support would be provided to ERCS in its efforts to provide humanitarian service to the public.
