Addis Ababa – The Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) announced that it has finalized preparations to fully implement Business Process Re-engineering (BPR). Trainings are being offered for employees of the Ministry of the BPR implementation.

Work productivity improvement team leader with the ministry, Tsegaw Tefera said that the ministry has been implementing BPR over the last few months at pilot level.

As the pilot level implementation was found successful in providing effective services, the ministry has decided to fully implement the BPR in the recent future, he said.

Water development, certification for water works, water utilization and monitoring, water information management, equal utilization and management of trans-boundary waters, basin studies and popularization as well as master plan are the six major work processes identified through the BPR study, he added.

The team leader also pointed out that the BPR would play an important role in benefiting the country from the water sector and potable water provision, and will also help employees understand and effectively implement the various policies in the water sector.
