Addis Ababa – The Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU-PSC) and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will hold 3rd joint meeting here in Addis Ababa on May 16, 2009.

The meeting will exchange views on issues of mutual interest to both the AU-PSC and UNSC, as regards the maintenance of peace and security in Africa.

The two sides will also discuss on ways to strengthen their cooperation.

It is to be recalled that the 1st and the 2nd joint meetings of the councils was held in Addis Ababa in 2007 and New York in 2008 respectively.
