Dire Dawa – The Dire Dawa city administration and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in the administration established a forum so as to undertake development works in an integrated manner.
Speaking at the establishment of the forum, information and public relations bureau head with the administration, Misrak Worku said the forum will have immense contributions to create close relationship with the NGOs and facilitate development works in the administration. He said the forum will also help further enhance the benefit and involvement of residents of the administration in development works underway in the administration. Moreover, the forum will help undertake an integrated information exchange between the NGOs and the administration, he added. Christian Relief and Development Association (CRDA) eastern region branch office head, Berhane Gobena on his part said the establishment of the forum will have great contributions to efficiently put directives, rules and proclamations into practice. He said the forum will allow NGOs to have clear understanding on the new legislation on civil society organizations (CSOs) and carry out integrated development works with the administration.
Currently, 28 NGOs are operating in Dire Dawa administration.
