Ethiopia: Addis creates 69,000 jobs
Addis Ababa – The Addis Ababa city work and urban development bureau announced that job opportunities have been created to over 69,000 compatriots.
Bureau head, Getachew Hailemariam told WIC that the stated number of jobs were created under the house and road construction projects being carried out in the city.
Existing and new housing development projects have created jobs to about 42,000 people organized under projects, the head said, while road and environmental development activities have offered jobs to over 18,000 people.
Plans have been set to create jobs to 10,000 people under the cobblestone constriction project in the city.
Micro and small scale enterprises established in the city are playing role for the speedy and efficient execution of the development projects.
Meanwhile, the head said that necessary assistance was offered in collaboration with the ministry of works and urban development so that a number of professionals have become construction contractors.
The administration has also facilitated loan services and is supporting the activities of the micro and small scale enterprises through creating market links.
