Ethiopia: Meles holds talks with CDB Executive Vice President

Addis Ababa – Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said the investment projects being executed in Ethiopia by the Chinese government and companies are bearing fruits.

The premier here on Monday held talks with Executive Vice President of China Development Bank (CDB), Li Jiping.

During the discussion, Meles said the investment projects launched by various Chinese companies including CDB in Ethiopia and Africa are registering encouraging results.

The project being executed by ZTE, a Chinese Telecom Company and Ethiopian Telecommunication Corporation, the new glass factory, which is jointly established by CGO Co. Group Ltd, a Chinese company and China Africa Development Fund and others, have a great significance to the nation.

The premier said the newly inaugurated glass factory would significantly contribute to enable Ethiopia save and make foreign currency in the sector.

The vice president on his part told ENA that Ethiopia and CDB have been cooperating in various sectors including infrastructure development, agriculture and telecommunication.

The economic cooperation between the Chinese government and CDB with Ethiopia are based on mutual benefit, he said.

The two sides on the occasion reaffirmed their commitment to work closely for the success of the projects jointly executed by the two countries.
