Ethiopia: Commissioner calls upon administrative bodies to strengthen efforts in fighting corruption
Addis Ababa – The Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (FEACC) Commissioner called upon administrative bodies to actively participate in the anti-corruption campaign across the nation.
Speaking at the opening of the 6th Federal and Regional States Anti-Corruption Offices and Stakeholders Joint Meeting opened on Thursday in Jimma town, Commissioner Ali Suleyman said as corruption is a complicated crime, it needs the joint efforts of all bodies.
Accordingly, he said, concerted effort of all citizens is crucial for the success of the fight against corruption.
The Commissioner said the meeting would discuss and approve a bill establishing an anti-corruption coalition at national level.
Speaking on her part, Commissioner of the Oromia State Anti-Corruption Commission, Fozia Amin said corruption hampers the development of the nation.
The commissioner stressed the need to combat corruption in collaboration with the public and stakeholders.
About 100 people drawn from federal and regional anti-corruption offices and other stakeholders attended the meeting.
