Ethiopia: OGCA urges journalists to promote nation image, fight corruption
Harar – Office of Government Communication Affairs (OGCA) urged Journalists to play leading role to promote the positive image of the country.
The Office underscored the indispensable role of journalists to fight corruption.
At the workshop held in Harar town on Saturday, OGCA’s Representative Zemedhun Tekle said journalists need to promote to change the ill-perceived image of the country.
He said journalists should portray the positive image of the country by disproving the hearsays and evil intentions of anti Ethiopia forces.
Zemedhun said journalists need to discharge their professional responsibility to fight corruption.
Harari State Deputy Chief, Regassa Kefile on his part said the expansion of media and capacity building activities is enhancing the development of the profession.
He said journalists need to be committed to publicize maladministration.
Dean of School of Journalism and Communication of Addis Ababa University (AAU), Dr. GebreMedhin Simon on his part said the school is undertaking various research works that would advance the communication sector.
More than 60 journalists and others relevant bodies participated at the two day workshop.
