Ethiopia: TICA grants financial assistance to 40 AAU postgraduate students

Addis Ababa – Turkish International Development Agency (TICA) granted financial assistance to 40 low-income postgraduate students of the Addis Ababa University (AAU).

The beneficiaries will be receiving 60 US dollars every month until the students enrolled in Technology, Science, Business Economics, Pharmacy, and Commercial Science Departments complete their graduate studies.

While announcing the grant, Tirkish Ambassador to Ethiopia Ali Riza Colak aid the grant is one of the manifestations of the ever-growing bilateral cooperation that exist between the two sisterly countries.

President of the university, Prof. Andrias Eshetie commends Turkey for its valuable grant to low-income postgraduate students of the oldest state-owned university. TICA granted diesel-operated power generator and personal computers (PCs) to the university during the previous year.

The agency, which was established in 1992, had grated similar grants to 40 postgraduate students of the university, it was noted.
