Ethiopia: Bureau inoculates over 781,000 children against polio

Addis Ababa – The SNNP state health bureau announced that more than 781,000 children under five have been inoculated against polio over the past nine months.

Bureau health development planning and supervision work process owner, Dereje Mamo told WIC that the stated number of children in rural and urban areas of the state were inoculated during a door-to-door inoculation campaign.

Commending the performance, Dereje said health extension professionals, kebele administrators and volunteers have contributed towards the success.

Meanwhile, over 359,000 expectant and over 872,000 women were also vaccinated against tetanus in the stated period, he said.
