Ethiopia: Council discusses, passes decision on anti-terrorism draft bill
Addis Ababa – The council of ministers during its 86th regular meeting here on Wednesday discussed and passed decision on anti-terrorism draft bill.
According to a statement the office of the Prime Minister sent to ENA, the council discussed on the draft bill, which focuses on protection of the rights of people to live in peace, liberty and stability from terrorism.
The office said the bill was drafted to prevent terrorism, which is against democracy and development. Terrorism endangers the constitutional system, safety and peace in the country.
It said the law is drafted with the aim of preventing terrorism, investigating and bringing to court terrorists and ensuring peace in the country and its environs as terrorism has become threat to the world
The council widely discussed on the draft bill and referred it to the House of Peoples’ Representatives for endorsement, the office said.
