Ethiopia: Administration says involving public vital in making BPR success
Addis Ababa – The Addis Ababa city administration announced that it is imperative to involve the public towards making the business process re-engineering (PBR) a success.
The remark came here at the launching of the result of the study jointly conducted by Addis Ababa city administration and Walta Information and Public Relations Center on business process re-engineering (BPR).
Speaking at the occasion administration mayor office head, Motuma Makassa said that the administration is holding successive discussions and practical trainings with a view to making the capacity building work a success.
Since involvement of the public is essential to make the BPR a success, discussions are being carried out with residents of the city on pre an post implementation of the BPR, he said. Accordingly, he said, promising results have been obtained from pre and post implementation discussions held in Bole, Yeka and Akaki sub cities over the past three months.
Participants of public consultation forum gathered on Saturday to assess the results the pilot BPR implementation commented that the implementation of the BPR has enabled the sub cities provide cost effective and efficient service.
Capitalizing on the best experiences obtained so far, the BPR would be implemented at all sub cities and offices in the city administration, it has been indicated.
