Ethiopia: Standing committee lauds effort of application of science, technology to speed up dev’t
Addis Ababa – Capacity Building Affairs Standing Committee of the House of Peoples Representatives said the effort made to share from riche countries to use science and technology for ongoing development endeavors by Science and Technology Ministry is encouraging.
The committee heard the nine months performance report of the ministry and deliberation here on Monday.
Presenting the report Science and Technology Minister Junedi Sado said the ministry is implementation of the BPR in the ministry and offices under its auspices.
The minister said the ministry is also preparing technology and innovation frameworks policy. The rich experiences of some 20 countries have been incorporated in the preparation of the policy.
He said important inputs have been gained for the components of the policy that includes science and technology as development input, science and technology policy framework, technological transfer development, research and extension, research institute and industry networking.
The committee said lauds the effort of the ministry to share experience from other countries and the restructuring of research institutions which are under the auspices of the ministry.
The committee urged the ministry to speed up the implementation of BPR.
