Ethiopia: Standing committee urges AGH to implement BPR
Addis Ababa – Infrastructure Development Affairs Standing Committee of the House of Peoples Representatives stressed the need for urgent implementation of BPR in the Agency for Government Houses.
The committee heard the nine month performance report of the agency here on Monday.
The committee said implementation of BPR would help the agency to improve its service since it reestablished recently.
The committee lauds agency’s inventory, hearing complains of customers’ maintenance.
The committee reiterated that the implementation of PBR would ultimately address the problems of the agency related to its service delivery.
The committee said the effort of collecting arrears of embassies and consulate is encouraging.
The committee urges the agency to seriously follow issuance of ownership certificates and utilization of budgets among other things.
Presenting the report, Agency’s Director General Teferi Fikru said seven million birr is overdue by various embassies. The agency in collaboration with Foreign Affairs Ministry has been striving to collect the arrears.
The director said the agency would implement BPR as of the beginning of the coming Ethiopian budget year.
