Ethiopia: Wereda gets 12 mln birr social service amenities

Dessie – Various social service amenities constructed with 12 million birr budget in Delanta woreda of Amhara state have gone operational, woreda administrator announced.

Teferiamlak Alebachew, told WIC that the social service amenities were focused on health and education sectors.

Construction of a health center and two schools, as well as 64 kilometers rural road has been carried out with the stated sum of budget.

Moreover, construction of a primary school and safe water facility is nearing completion.

The administrator further said that plans have been set to launch construction of one hospital, while design study is underway for the construction of 90 kilometers Dessie-Wegeltena road with 4.2 million birr budget.

Soil and water conservation works are being carried out on 80 basins in 35 kebelles of the woreda.

The development works carried out in the woreda have been benefiting more than 50,000 residents, according to the administrator.
