Ethiopia: Zone working on 78 mln birr food security activities
Dessie – The south Wollo zone Food Security and Disaster Prevention Office said it is engaged in activities aimed at ensuring food security with 78 million birr.
Office head, Andualem Gebre told WIC that the food security activities were focused on building the capacity of and facilitating loan services for needy farmers in the zone.
Andualem said that the office is training the farmers’ to involve them in crop production, animal husbandry, apiary and poultry.
Over 55,000 people from 19 weredas of the zone are benefiting from the food security program funded by the federal government and the World Bank, he added.
