Ethiopia: World Vision Ethiopia speaks of environmental concerns
Addis Ababa – World Vision Ethiopia said that climate change threatens to undermine the development investments being made to improve the well being of children and communities.
World Vision Ethiopia, in collaboration with the government, non-governmental organization and the community is celebrating Environment Day at Humbo farmers managed Natural regeneration Project site in southern Ethiopia.
In a press release it sent to WIC, World Vision Ethiopia said it is concerned about climate change mitigation as it undermines the well being of the poor and called for every efforts in protecting the environment.
World Vision Ethiopia, being committed to the poor, has invested heavily in relief and development in order to create lasting solutions to poverty over the last thirty years.
As the environment in which we work is being degraded, our policies should move beyond a “Do No Harm” approach. We need to actively seek to restore the environment in our agricultural, water, sanitation, hygiene, economic development and education practice, it said.
