Ethiopia: Department spraying anti-mosquito chemical
Harari – The east Hararge zone health department announced that it has begun spraying of anti mosquito chemicals in 18 woredas. The chemical spraying would protect close to 694,000 people from malaria pandemic.
Communicable diseases control head with the department, Tekola Workneh told WIC that the anti mosquito chemical spraying is underway in 1,669 kebelles of the zone.
The spraying campaign, due to be conducted for 25 days, is aimed at preventing the possible outbreak of malaria following the main rainy season.
More than 70,000 kilograms of anti mosquito malaria would be sprayed on 181,477 houses during the campaign, he said.
