Ethiopia: EYL urges youth to get organized
Addis Ababa – The Ethiopian Youth League (EYL) urged all youths in the country to contribute to the socio-economic and political development efforts of the country through organizing themselves under association.
EYL Vice Chairman, Mekuria Gurmu told WIC that getting organized under associations will enable youth benefit from the development endeavors of the county and actively engage in the efforts of building democratic order.
He said various activities meant to enable youth discharge their leadership role in politics have been carried out in the country, adding that, the recently launched league will provide the youth with the opportunity to actively take part in all-rounded development efforts of the country.
The league is also believed to enable the youth create jobs for themselves and other fellow citizens by organizing under micro and small scale businesses. According to the vice chairman, over 62,000 members have already been embraced under youth and women leagues.
EYL would work hard to make the youth active participants in the building-up of democratic order and economic development efforts of the country, he said.
