Ethiopia: Zone distributes over 96,000 quintals fertilizer
Adama – The East Shoa zone Cooperatives’ Association Expansion and Organizing Office said it has distributed over 96,000 quintals of fertilizers to various woredas since the past march. Over 104,000 quintals of fertilizer will be distributed until mid June.
Office Input Supply and Distribution Expert, Tebeje Seyum told WIC that the stated volume of fertilizer was supplied through Lome, Adama, Aerer and Denbel farmers’ cooperatives unions.
He said some 67,988 quintals of DAP has been arrived at each station of the Woreda, went on to add that above to 8,000 quintals of fertilizers were distributed to the farmers.
He also said the cooperative unions are distributing some 104,710 quintals of fertilizer aiming to ease the shortage of fertilizer in the zone.
According to the expert, over 10,099 quintals of Maize, Teff, Wheat, and other select seed meant to enable the farmers challenge shortage of seed are being supplied.
