Ethiopia: ADLI strategy would enable to scale up investment participation: AACCSA
Addis Ababa – The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) said the government’s Agricultural Development Led-Industrialization (ADLI) strategy would enable to further scale up investment participation.
AACCSA in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development has prepared the 2nd Special Agriculture and Food Exhibition (AGRIFEX) slated to be held at the Addis Ababa Exhibition Center from 11-15 June, 2009.
Association President, Eyesuswork Zafu said the exhibitors include 56 foreign and 11 local agricultural and food grain producers, food processing complexes, agricultural input suppliers as well as agricultural and food products importers and exporters.
The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and Mozambique Embassy in Ethiopia would also take part in the exhibition.
The United Nations Industry Development Organization (UNIDO) provided support for the successful conduct of the exhibition, he said.
He said AACCSA decided to organize the exhibition taking into consideration the prominent place of agriculture in the national economy and its significance in the country-wide efforts geared to ensure food self-sufficiency.
The president called up on all to visit the 2nd special AGRIFEX.
Speaking on his part, UNIDO Country Director, Dr David Tommy said there is a favorable situation that would enable Ethiopia to be self-sufficient in the agriculture sector.
Ethiopia has the capacity to supply several agriculture products to the international market, he said.
Awards would be presented to those who showed outstanding participation in the exhibition.
