Ethiopia: Investors vow to step up dev’t efforts

Addis Ababa – Investors engaged in hotel and tourism sector in the Adama town vowed to make integrated efforts to further speed up the socio-economic development of the town.

In the four point resolution they adopted at the end of a consultative meeting, the investors indicated that they are committed to work with the government to make town a symbol of an international level urban area.

They have also promised to create a favorable town for local and international tourists by providing first class services and thereby support the development of the country.

The investors also pointed out that they would exert integrated efforts to expose those engaged in illegal businesses, urging the government to take the necessary measures on the illegal traders.

President of the Adama town culture and tourism association, Abebe Benti on his part said that the business society in the town should exert integrated effort to ensure their rights and to improve the image of the town.

Close to 250 of the investors are undertaking various activities by organizing themselves under the “Culture and Tourism Association”. They also called on other investors in the town to be embraced under the association.

Mayor of Adama town, Sisay Negash on his part said that providing effective and quality hotel services is crucial to make town a tourist hub.

The collaboration among the hotels in the town is vital to materialize the vision of the town, he said.

He also urged the business people engaged in the tourism and hotel sectors to make concerted efforts and protect illegal trade.
