Ethiopia: Bureau collects over 360 mln birr
Mekelle – The Tigray State Finance and Economic Development Bureau said it has collected over 360 million birr revenue from various income titles over the past ten months.
Bureau Head, Maruff Nure told WIC that the bureau has collected the stated sum of revenue from direct and indirect taxes as well as other income sources. The bureau set plans to collect over 400 million birr during the current budget year. The revenue collected over the past 10 months exceeded that of last year same period by 32 per cent, he said. The activities the bureau is carrying out to enhance its capacity by implementing customer oriented working procedures are bearing fruits.
The bureau is actively working to make the revenue collecting systems fair through changing the attitude of its employees and tax payers, he added.
