Atse Haile-Selassie and Etege Menen - video file

What a contrast to the current chigaram thugs in power who turned Ethiopia into a beggar republic!

How dignifing. The Emperor is highly respected peraded in front of thousands and thousands of Americans and to the world.
It is sad to see today's leader of Ethiopia comes and goes through the back door without being noticed. That proves that they have no dignity and treated as thief and beggar. And that is what he is.

wow! ethiopians are people with class. i was wondering where the present leaders come from. i say watch this and learn, because this is what a relationship between the leader and the people should be. where the prists lined to bless the leader and peple are just happy to have the leader like that. God Bless Ethiopian and may he give us a blessed leader.

  6. Ethiop... says:

The generation after the mid 60s through the mid 70s probably remembers Atse Haile Selassie’s public appearances without Etege Menen as she had passed away in the 60s. This is a good clip which includes her.

From his body language/reflex, he seems to guard her and as if she would also be perceptive of the subtle messages of protocol. (Well may be a given …). His aura has been one rare dignified grace and born to be that and it was one of his assets. There is a certain gentleness to her. Although the royalty and nobility enters into arranged marriages, in this video, they look like they loved each other.

The politics is another segment, but videos like this are indeed part of history and well, Ethiopia from where to where?.

  7. Professor Issayas Afewerqi says:

The present theif leaders wouldn't travel with out armed protection. When Meles travels, all the streets will be shut and in addition to that no one knows which vehicle he travels in. In the contrast, look the emperor, he has nothing to fear as people know that he was serving his country at his best.

the other funny thing is even the present TPLF patriark, Aba Paulos a.k.a aba G/medehin travels with an arms escourt. what a shame for these Tigreans.

What a shame for the generation we are in! It clearly show us how far we travel back ward in the last three decades. It is under this reality that we are trying to celebrate the milinium. what are we celebrating? It is sad to have Meles on Haile's throne.
    May GOd Bless our ethiopia

Had Meles ever kissed the Bible in Ethiopia? I doubt it. I have never seen him attending church. I am not sure the good for nothing Girma has either.
