CPSC launches product safety database
Before you go shopping this weekend, be sure to bookmark the Consumer Product Safety Commission‘s new online product safety database.
SaferProducts.gov lets consumers search recalls and reports. It also allows users to report unsafe products to the CPSC — a feature that some businesses worry will be abused by people submitting fake complaints.
The CPSC will review the reports and submit qualifying ones, which contain all the necessary information, on to manufacturers.
Businesses can register with the site to receive information about any reports submitted about their products.
