Free Starbucks dessert with purchase, cheap pie for Pi Day: Cheap Trick Thursday

March 10th, 2011 at 6:31 am |

Here are two inexpensive treats to help chase away the doom and gloom, courtesy of Cheap Trick Thursday.

1. As part of Starbucks’ Tribute Days, planned to celebrate the coffeehouse chain’s 40th anniversary, go to any store between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on March 10, March 11 or March 12 and buy one handcrafted beverage to get one of the new Starbucks petites free.

I was interested to note that each of the eight options — including three cute desserts served on sticks — is under 200 calories. Can’t say the same about some of the drinks!

If you want to try making your own adorable desserts on sticks, here’s directions to make cake pops via Instructables. Just send me a few samples.

Find a map of local Starbucks here. And if Starbucks isn’t your thing, here are other coffee spots in the area.

2. On Monday, March 14, otherwise known as Pi Day (you know, 3.1415926535…), Morton’s The Steakhouse in Baltimore will reduce the price of slices of its key lime pie from $10 to $3.14. Get more details here.
