Local coupon tips and Walmart’s new coupon policy: Consumer Website of the Week

March 9th, 2011 at 9:45 am |

There are lots of bloggers out on the Interwebs, showing off the tremendous hauls they have acquired thanks to extreme couponing techniques.

frugalfamilyfun.comWe wanted to direct your attention to one area blog, frugalfamilyfun.com. There, Maggie and Beth list great deals and freebies that can be found online and at local stores, such as Safeway, Target, Rite Aid and CVS, usually by stacking manufacturer’s coupons with retailer sales.

Maggie gave me a call earlier this week to point out a powerful new couponing tool …

… actually a change to Walmart’s coupon policy that permits overages.

Now, if you redeem a coupon for a product at Walmart that is worth more than the price of that item, the remaining value can be applied to other items in your basket — such as fresh produce that usually doesn’t get coupon discounts.

Will this new policy make a difference in where you shop?
