Addis Ababa — Aba Gebremedhin (formerly known as Aba Paulos), the Woyanne cadre who is installed as the patriarch of Ethiopia’s Orthodox Tewahdo Church, has been stripped of most of his administrative duties by the Synod, the Church’s executive body, according to the Addis Ababa-based newspaper Awramba Times.
The Synod decided to take such measures against Aba Gebremedhin in an emergency meeting after he arbitrarily suspended Addis Ababa bishop Abune Samuel.

this bloody gangster should be brought to justice. He has disgraced our sacred church by spiling the blood of innocent hermit(monk) in a broad day light at Estifanos church. The church, especially the compund of ‘yebete kihinet’is unbelieveably invaded by tigregna speakers. Isn’t it shameful for religious father becoming as low and narrow as aba diabilos (aka aba paulos). For sure God will provide his right judgment soon. We shall see our church rejuvinated in the near future.

If it is true, we are stepping one step forward. He should not be the leader of our church. Aba Gebremedhin has a qualification to be the leader of Woyane, Not Ortodox church. He clearly does not have the fear of God nor love to his people. He deserve to be out office a long time ago.

This does not make right the gross mistake they committed by violating the church’s enduring canon that a patriarch cannot be appointed while there is a living legitimate patriarch.
If the synod is coming to its sense by any measure and if they really care for the unity of the Orthodox Church, they need to work to reinstate the legitimate Patriarch, His Holiness Merkorios. This will be the wisest men of church would do.
Short of this, all what they do is a hoopla to comfort the Tigrean masters, the woyane. I would be surprised if they don’t replace him with another should Aba Gebremedhin be removed.
Oh God, please save our beloved Orthodox church from this none spiritual turmoil once again as you did it in the past. Amen.

Who will suspend and kick self-prophesized fool Meles? May be amhara branch of EPRDF, believe me! they saved him in 2000 and they have every power to save and kick him. My advise to them is to first kick pathological lair Barakat, then the road is easy and smooth to kick bloody Meles.
