He shouldn’t die nor should he suffer until he frees Birtukan and thousands of other prisoners languishing in rat infested jails around the country. We should also wish him speedy recovery from his illness. It is in our Ethiopian tradition to wish the sick speedy recovery. This is in response to halefom who is obviously brain-dead and, because he is from the same ethnicity, is defending the indefensible, murderous Legesse Zenawi. halefom, where in Ethiopia did you see poverty defeated – in your chat-induced brain? You say “only 14 million in need of urgent food supply. It could have been 60 to 70 million…” that is the entire population of Ethiopia would have starved except Meles with “his astute leadership” saved the nation from starvation! Do you even know how much a ‘million’ is? Please start counting.

Which planet are you inhabiting? Meles doesn’t even comply with the Ethiopian legal system. His so-called Constitution is just gathering dust. I don’t think you have been to ‘the banana republics’either. You will be surprised to see that they are better off than Ethiopia! Lastly, which ‘world’ is Meles ‘the envy of’? It must be in your exclusive planet!
Meles is seen as a conniving evil man who hates Ethiopia and Ethiopians will breathe a sigh of great relief if he dies.

I hope he does not die. It is going to be a huge loss for Ethiopia and the rest of Africa. Thanks to his leadership, poverty in ethiopia has been defeated. There are only 14 million people in need of urgent food supply. It could have been 60 to 70 million if it was not for his astiute leadership. The country would have been a banana republic where laws were used to prosecute and eliminate potential adversaries. In modern ethiopia, if it is important to eliminate a person, arbitrary arrest and killing does not take place.It is ILLEGAL. A law to justfy the killing should be passed the day before. He is an envy of the world and we ethiopians should pray day and night for him to get well.

We should not wish the death of anyone. Only God can judge him. He is going to have to answer to God for all of the things he did. I think the new generation needs to be better than the previous generation. Whenever a new person comes to power, he will either seeks vengeance on the previous administration or destruct everything that they have worked on. We are always there to cheer. That right there is our problem my friends. When are we going to change? We need to show everyone that we are better, that we respect the constitution, that we can create a democratic Ethiopia. We should work together to eradicate poverty and to protect our people not work against each other.
