2 Ethiopian religious leaders arrive in Eritrea

August 27th, 2009 |  |  19 Comments

Aba Abiy Yohannes and Kes Tibebu Assfaw Asmara, Eritrea — Two Ethiopian religious leaders arrived in Eritrea opposing the ongoing conflict and anarchy within the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church (EOC) that is being instigated by Ato GebreMedhin (formerly Abune Paulos).

The two religious leaders are Aba Abiy Yohannes, who used to serve at the Lideta Church in Addis Ababa, and Kes Tibebu Assfaw, who used to serve at the Selassie Monastery administered by the Addis Ababa Synod.

Both pointed out that Ato Gebremedhin is fomenting tribalism within the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. They also accused Ato Gebremedhin of corruption and causing anarchy inside the Church.

The religious leaders disclosed that photos of Ato Gebremedhin is being displayed churches and monasteries through out the country, more than images of saints.

The fall of Lucifer – the Morning Star

Some theologians argue Satan is Lucifer, but others say Satan is not Lucifer; however, the fact remains that Aba Gebre Medhin, the fake Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church, is both Lucifer and Satan.

In the New Testament, we see Jesus rebuking Satan: ‘Away from me, Satan!’ (Matthew 4:10)

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church represents Jesus Christ, its founder and savior, and it is clearly and unequivocally telling Aba Gebre Medhin: ‘Away from me, Satan because you have misled the faithful and neglected your duty to shepherd them properly!’

In the book of 1st Chronicles, we see Satan is inciting King David to take a census of Israel against the will of God (21:1). In the same way, Satan is inciting Aba Gebre Medhin to count how many Tegaru Christians and how many Amhara Christians are there in the country so that he could rule the Church using the old method of “divide and rule.” But this technique of “divide and rule” has never been used in the Church affairs only in the secular government of the land.

The Apostle John tells us that the ancient serpent, the dragon, the devil or Satan was fighting with Michael and his angels and Satan was losing the battle and his place in heaven and was being sent down to earth (Revelation 12:9).

In the same way, Aba Gebre Medhin, the old serpent, the dragon, the devil or the great Satan, has been fighting with the angels of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church – the clergies, the deacons, the bishops, the archbishops, the debteras, the Memhirs, and the faithful for 18 years, and very soon, he will be losing the battle, and then he will go down to the depths of the earth to join the angels of the darkness.

Aba Gebre Medhin prefers to rule a divided Church to a united one: the Amhara Church on one side and the Tegaru Church on the other side. In case, if the Amhara Church opposes his ecclesiastical leadership, he will easily take side with the Tegaru Church, and when the Tegaru Church disappoints him, he will officiate with the Amhara Church.

In this way, the kingdom of Aba Gebre Medhin seems very shaky, divided, and not firmly established as Jesus said: “If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand?” (Luke 11:18) Aba Gebre Medhin is the real Satan and he has created a satanic kingdom in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. We should not forget he is more a politician than a spiritual man, and that is why he has created division between the two Churches, and such serious division has never been before between the Amhara Church and the Tegaru Church. There was no such a thing as the Amhara Church or the Tegaru Church. There had been only one Church: The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church.

When Aba Gebre Medhin took office illegally 18 years ago, Satan entered him, and he immediately betrayed the Ethiopian Orthodox Church for few dollars by exposing himself as an angel of God, or a man of God. But he was deceiving the faithful: St. Paul says: “…no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” (2nd Corinthians 11:14) For many years, Aba Gebre Medhin has been deceiving the faithful, masquerading as an honest patriarch and as a holy man.

As the Morning Star – Lucifer- was degraded from his angelic post, so also will Aba Gebre Medhin be demoted to the lowest place as the prophet Isaiah foretold: “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning Star, Son of the dawn! You said in your heart ‘…I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.” (14:11-16)

The most bizarre thing in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is that Aba Gebre Medhin considers himself a saint without the approval of the Ethiopian Church Fathers and the faithful, and he has ordered his pictures to be posted on every Ethiopian Church buildings and be venerated like the pictures of the Holy Trinity, the Virgin Mary, and as the pictures of many other saints. I think he wants to be worshiped like a God, and that is why Isaiah the prophet said to Lucifer – the Morning Star: “You said in your heart, ‘…I will make myself like the Most High.’” But the Ethiopian Orthodox Christians do not worship Mary and all the other saints; they just venerate them; however, Aba Gebre Medhin wants something more than mere veneration; he wants to be worshiped like YHWH, the eternal God of the Universe.

Those Ethiopian clergies such as Aba Abiy Yohannes and Kes (priest) Tibebu who vehemently opposed to genuflect to Aba Gebre Medhin’s secular picture by strictly following the teaching of St. Paul who commanded: “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11) left the country, knowing Aba Gebre Medhin’s devilish schemes were ungodly.

Its not surprising that these religious leaders have left the tyranny of the weyane clique which has managed to infiltrate the Ethiopian religious society with the help of now reigning thief and right hand man to weyane, G.Medhin.

I wish them well and hope they are able to return after the certain downfall of this cancer that has gripped the whole horn.

    You are asking good questions.

If we Ethiopians are not united on the basis of justice for all and agree to fight together I am sure Abba Gebremedhin will son be elevated to saint hood and worshiped like God by the coming generations of new Ethiopians, while our true church leaders are going to suffer in Eritrean deserts. Talking alone does not solve problems.
Do we have Oromo patriarches by the way?

kul, you are either naive or a Weyane appologist. So, you think these holy men would be saved from the wrath of Weyane just because they are in a monastery? Think again. Nobody is safe from Weyanes if they want to grab him or her.
