Ato yelma Bekele.....One thing you should have realized, by now, is that the Ferenjis won't give a dime if without a return in many folds. These Ferenjis are deep in their own trouble and desperately need countries with resources to open up their market for their investers to come and rip up the country's resources to make as much profit as possible while leaving the crumbs for the weyane and while the rest of us wait a crumb from the weyane which is very unlikely. Look at the CEO of the leather factory in Qoka, Reg Hankey. He's happy to invest in Qoka Tannery which processes leather and dumping the toxic residue from this factory into lake Qoka without going through any treatment plant. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUqgUR4qI98 )check out part-2 too.
That way of conducting business in the Western country is unthinkable, in fact, it's criminal act. But who would criminalize Reg hankey, for destroying our environment, water and land in a country where its leader(Tyrant Meles) is criminal goon himself. A treatment plant cost a little bit of money so as to save lake Qoka from being polluted. I remember a company called Syncrude in Canada fined $800,000 for its role in the death 500 ducks who landed in its highly toxic tar sands waste.

In Ethiopia, we're talking about people (not ducks) living in the vicinity of Qoka hayk dying like flies but nobody asking any questions. Those poor Ethiopians would have got justice, had they been ducks living in Canada.
Meles and his killing machine won't care one bit and it works out nicely 7 cost effective for CEO, Reg Hankey, avoiding extra expenses while helping himself maximize his profit and sell his final product to the western market. You can imagine the western countries ripping millions in tax revenue from those products in their market.

We should see a wider picture. Investment is good but not at the expense of our people, environment(land, air and water). It should be done in a sustainable manner just like they do it in the West. Why wouldn't it be good for the gander whatever is good for the goose. In our case, all we are asking is why wouldn't our people be treated, at least, as equal (if not more) as a duck in canada.
