Ethiopia: A senior AEUP leader resigned in protest

November 13th, 2009 |  |  15 Comments

A senior leader of the All Ethiopian Unity Party (AEUP), Major Argaw Kabtamu, has resigned from the party after protesting the party chairman Hailu Shawel’s agreement with head of the Woyanne regime, Meles Zenawi, on the upcoming general elections.

Major (Shaleqa) Argaw spent 2 years in jail, and was released on August 18, 2007, along with 30 other political prisoners. He is a highly respected leader of AEUP who is known for his principled stand.

In a related story, some leaders and members of the AEUP are circulating a petition within the party hierarchy in order to force Hailu Shawel to back out of the the traitorous agreement he signed with Meles Zenawi, a blood thirsty dictator who unleashed his death squads on Shibre Desalegn and thousands of other peaceful pro-democracy protesters following the May 2005 elections. During the same period, over 40,000 young Ethiopians were rounded up from Addis Ababa and other cities and were sent to malaria-infested concentration camps in remote parts of Ethiopia.

Younger AEUP activists are also currently working to force the resignation of Hailu Shawel for committing one of the worst betrayals of the people in Ethiopian history.

The main effect of the Meles-Hailu-handshake is a division of Amhara polity in to two. The activity of G-7/UDJ made many Amharas to look at Asmara as the focus of the struggle against Weyane. Because of this move many Amharas including the two generals (Tefera and Asaminew) are suffering under prison and torture. Now Injera Hailom Shawid moved to Meqele as a supporter of Weyane instead of Asmara, taking his supporters with him. Amharas rallying behind G-7/UDJ percieve this as a major betrayal, whereas Amharas supporting Aite Hailom still sing the obsolete song of unitarist and amharanized Ethiopia. Specially it is very interesting to observe the very conservative Amharas like Prof. Mesfin and Dr. Taye, who used to despise and insult Weyane, now changed their view and started the “good job” of ye Meles qiix-axebaa! I know the main thing which made them to lick ye Meles qiix is the struggle of Oromo people to liberate Oromia from the domination system of both Nefxenyas (the obsolete 20th-century AAPO-Nefxenya and the “modern” 21st-century Weyane-Nefxenya). Because of the division made by Weyane canning fox, EPRP and AAPO have no more the love they enjoyed to one an other in the last few years. Debtra Getachew Reda is at last exposed (he is not with EPRP, but “with AAPO”) as the under ground Weyane agent camouflaged as Amhara conservative fighting specially against OLF!!!

Actually Weyane’s devide and rule method is running specially in three areas:
    - polarization of Amhara democratic forces and Oromo liberation fronts
    - disintegration of the Amhara forces
    - disenfranchisement of the Oromo fronts

In the last few years, both the democratic forces and the liberation fronts did a good job to counter act this devide and rule game of Weyane. Unfortunately now Weyane got one fool in the name Injera Hailom Shawid and did its further divsion work among Amharas!!

AFDist above is a good example of Woyane agents spreading poison among the opposition.

It is a fake “Oromo” point of view spread by Tigre spies. Divide, spread venom and conquer. That’s how a handful of Woyanes have managed to enslave over 75 million Ethiopians.

Whatever Ato Hailu Shawel decides really does not matter. There is no election to fight over. The 2010 election has already been decided with the TPLF as the winner.

The commotion is mostly for the consumption of Western donors who continue to feed this beggar beast.

It seems the Good Lord is using Woyane to punish our people. Woyane have brought much suffering; they have brought disease, pestilence, famine and death.

God, please stop the suffering of this land. Deliver her from the evil doers.

conclusion is AFDist please go and find your naive people stupid weyane.

  13. True says:

Well, well, the breaking up of AEUP, like Kinijit is starting piece by piece done by Weyane. Next will be Medrek. As a result, Weyane has already secured Hailu Shawl as his opposition to run so that the international observers see. Otherwise it is a done deal that Weyane will continue as usual.
